realme will Launch Android 11 based realme UI 2.0 on 21st September!

At the time of its advent, realme devices shipped with ColorOS. However, as the brand grew and became larger, it started developing its own custom Skin. realme named this custom skin of their’s based on Android as realme UI. It was introduced officially in the month of January as realme UI 1.0. It is now time for the next iteration of realme UI, termed as realme UI 2.0. In fact, realme has already started the testing of realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 for the realme X50 Pro. However, it was a closed build limited to 100 applicants. We covered the features of Android 11 based realme UI 2.0 extensively in a post. realme has now officially announced the launch date for realme UI 2.0 in India. realme is all set to release it alongside the Narzo 20 Series on 21st September 2020.

With realme UI 1.0, realme gave Android 10 to a lot of devices and it has quite a few issues of its own which are being fixed continuously with monthly security patch updates. But in case the user wants to roll back to Android Pie which was based on Color OS 6, it is now possible. realme X2 rollback build makes it possible for users to go back to Android 9 if the current one is not of their liking.

realme C2 realme UI Early Access Announced!

realme launched realme C2 Pro in India last year running Android 9.0 based ColorOS. realme has been rolling out bi-monthly security patch updates along with other feature such as Dark mode, VoWiFi, and others from time to time. realme C2 is expected to receive Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 update in September as per the official schedule. Now, realme has announced realme UI early Access program for realme C2. Early access program lets user get access to realme UI for the applicable devices ahead of the others.

realme to remove Clean Master and other banned Applications via OTA Updates in Early August!

On 16th July 2020, the government of India banned 59 Chinese Apps in India amid privacy concerns. Out of the 59 applications that were banned, some applications had become a household name and used to come pre-loaded on a number of devices in one form or another. realme devices are no exception to this as they are shipped with a Security app that houses “Clean Master-Cheetah Mobile“, for few functions to work. The Security app is a system application and as a result, it can’t be easily removed unless you are ready to get messy with ADB settings and so on, which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

realme has been rolling out realme UI to all the eligible devices as per the schedule and has been on track for now. realme launched realme 2 Pro smartphone in India in 2018 running Android 8.1 based ColorOS 5.2. realme made it’s debut in Indian market less than two years ago and has managed to carve a place for it in a short span of time. realme entered Indian market as oppo sub-brand with the realme but soon graduated as an independent brand. realme kept using oppo’s version of Android, ColorOS on it’s devices until last year.
