realme 1 and realme U1 Kernel Sources based on Android 9 now available!

realme has been a bit lethargic with the release of Kernel sources for their devices. Often criticized by developers for their broken code and commits. realme has released¬†realme 1 and realme U1 kernel sources¬†which is based on Android 9. After a year of release of the Android 9 update. To recall, realme 1 and realme U1 were launched back in 2018 with Helio P60 and P70 respectively. Both these devices were out of realme’s plans for updates for realme UI 1.0.

With the realme 1 and U1 kernel source available, users can now expect to have custom ROMs for the devices as the official supports for them with Android 9. realme 1 recently got official Lineage 17.1 support. The kernel source is not useful for masses but these codes required by the developers. These developers modify and build their own ROMs/kernels for the device as Android is an Open Source OS. As Android is powered by Linux Kernel, it must comply with the General Public Licence. GPL says the users are free to study, modify the software.
