realme 8 5G Series to Launch soon in India, confirms realme India Support!

realme is on a roll this year with the launch of brand new smartphones and AoT products. The company recently launched the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro in the country, but both these devices support 4G only. But, people expected more than that from realme, since it portrays itself as ‘democratizer of 5G’. Now, in response to a user query on twitter, realme India Support has revealed that it will soon introduce 5G variants of both these smartphones. This means that the realme 8 5G, and realme 8 Pro 5G will soon be added to realme 8 lineup.

As of now, we do not have an official launch date for the device, but we can expect the devices to debut soon in India as well as Europe.

realme 8 Series devices are marginal upgrade over their predecessors!

realme fans were in a slight disappointment when realme announced realme 8 Series. Though, realme 8 Pro is company’s first smartphone with a 108MP camera sensor, it didn’t bring much improvement in other areas compared to realme 7 Pro. Strangely, realme also decided to include 50W fast-charging on realme 8 Pro compared to 65W on the realme 7 Pro. Also, for some reason, realme decided not to jump on the high-refresh rate panel bandwagen. In fact, the company ditched higher refresh rate from realme 7 in favour of an AMOLED panel on realme 8. All these choices were rather disappointing, and strange. And, we hope realme, with 5G variants, will bring significantly upgraded hardware to realme 8 series.

realme 8 5G, and realme 8 Pro 5G: What do we know so far?

That being said, realme 8 5G was recently spotted on the FCC website, which confirmed few specifications regarding the device. The smartphone is set to feature a large 5000mAh battery and run on realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. While the listing does not confirm the chipset in use, we expect realme 8 5G to launch with the Mediatek Dimensity 700 chipset.

On the other hand, the realme 8 Pro is expected to feature the Mediatek Dimensity 800U chipset. However, realme 8 4G is powered by the Mediatek G95 chipset, while the Pro comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset.
