realme will soon introduce a Fresh Design, from Shape to Placements! [Update: Device with new design will launch next month]

[Jun 16]: realme CEO, Madhav in the recent episode of #AskMadhav has shared that the company is launching a smartphone with new design next month, i.e., July.

Few days back, we were covering a report in which realme CMO confirmed that the company has dropped the design which was leaked a couple of months back. During the coverage one thing that crossed our minds over at realme Central, was the design of most of the recent realme smartphones. There’s a good chance, that like us, even you have noticed the repetitive rear camera placement on a majority of the recent realme smartphones, be it realme XT, realme C3, or the recently launched realme X50 Pro Player Edition.

If you are still unaware, about what we are pointing out here, it’s about the fact that a good majority of launches had vertical camera placement on the left side of the device, with a varying number of camera(s). From the entry range realme C3, to the flagship realme X50Pro, all the devices launched in past 8-9 months had the same camera position. The devices launched in 2020, even have same front camera placement,

Here’s a list of devices with the repititive camera setup

  • realme C3
  • realme Narzo 10A
  • realme Narzo 10
  • realme 3 Pro
  • realme 5
  • realme 5s
  • realme 5i
  • realme 5 Pro
  • realme 6
  • realme 6 Pro
  • realme XT
  • realme X2
  • realme X50
  • realme X50m
  • realme X50 Pro
  • realme X50 Pro Player Edition
  • realme X3 SuperZoom

As you can see, recently launched devices with few exceptions like realme X2 Pro, have been sporting the same rear placement, though realme has been constantly innovating when it comes to pattern or finish on the back panel. Turns out, it wasn’t just us who noticed it, as number of twitter users were found asking and tagging realme officials about the same.

realme CMO, Francis Wang, replied to one such tweet and assured that they are working on a design, and there will be soon a breathe of fresh air, in terms of design. We will have to wait and watch, in which way or form. But, it’s good to see realme officials acknowledging this consensus, and considering consumer feedback.
